Where Night Falls into Form
“A space where light bends, music lingers, and architecture orchestrates the rhythm of the night.”
Project Overview
Vortex is not a space. It’s a state of mind. Inspired by the spiraling energy of black holes and underground electronica, this experiential bar and kitchen in Hyderabad redefines the boundaries between architecture, music, light, and human connection.
The design is unapologetically bold — dark, magnetic, immersive. It pulls you inward like its name suggests, with design cues drawn from the idea of a spiraling galaxy. Nothing is static. Everything flows.
Design Philosophy
Vortex blurs lines — between ceiling and wall, light and shadow, indoors and cosmos. The spatial narrative moves from a charged, high-energy entry tunnel into multiple zones that range from moody intimacy to explosive vibrancy.
The intent was to engage all five senses — touch the skin with texture, provoke curiosity through light, invite conversation with fluid seating, and amplify emotional highs with acoustically responsive surfaces.

Experience Ethos
Vortex is not about seeing. It’s about feeling — the pulse of the room, the edge of the unknown, the mystery of shadows, the surprise of light.
Each corner is crafted not just for visibility but for discovery. You don’t walk through Vortex — you explore it. It lives, listens, and reacts.
Design Features
- The Vortex Entry
Guests arrive through a blacked-out corridor lined with polished steel mirrors and reactive LED ribbons. As they walk, motion sensors trigger a kinetic light sequence that gives the illusion of being sucked into a vortex.
- The Orb Lounge
Circular booths upholstered in petrol-blue velvet float inside glowing rings of amber light. Walls are finished in charcoal concrete with embedded optic threads that flicker like distant stars. Each booth is sound-padded for personal acoustics.
- The Celestial Bar
A sculptural island bar made of blackened steel, onyx, and programmable fiber optics. Above it hangs a floating matrix of suspended bottles, lit from below to create a sense of weightlessness. The bar counter is backlit with a dynamic flame simulation.
- The Gravity Room
A VIP dining area with a ceiling that shifts light and tone based on music. Kinetic wall panels (responsive to bass frequencies) subtly undulate, giving the space a surreal, almost liquid quality.
- The Main Floor & LED Canopy
The heart of Vortex — a large open space with mobile dining clusters and a dynamic grid of LED nodes above that sync with the music, crowd density, and time of night. The floor is black terrazzo with micro flecks of silver — catching light like a night sky.
- Mezzanine & Skylight Dome
A raised DJ platform under a partial glass dome — during night hours, projection mapping converts the dome into a swirling galaxy, aurora borealis, or slow-motion abstract visuals that bathe the entire lounge in atmospheric glow.
